What is the minimum quantity for a single production order?
Our minimum quantity depends on many factors including: 1) the materials of the item to be produced, 2) whether you have ordered other items to be produced and shipped together, and 3) the time of the year. We will work with you to do everything we can to help fulfill your project, but ideally, minimum quantities are at least 1,000 pieces, though at times we have worked with clients to produce quantities as low as 250 pieces.
How long does it take to produce an item?
Delivery times also depend on many factors including: 1) the materials of the item to be produced, 2) whether you have ordered other items to be produced and shipped together, and 3) the time of the year. We usually need approximately 45 days, but during high season, some items may require 90 days.
Our high season begins around late May and lasts until early September. This means that if you want your production to be delivered in time for the Holiday shopping season, orders should be placed at the very least by early May. Our summer production line begins getting filled even before May, so please send in your orders as soon as you know it.
How do I pay for my order?
In order to keep our pricing as low as possible, we accept wire transfers only. We use only reputable and globally recognized banks, so you can be assured that your transactions are secure.
How do I arrange shipping and customs?
We will work with your preferred team of freight forwarders and customs brokers to make sure that your products get to you as early as possible, without the headache. If you are new to the game, we are more than happy to take you step by step through the process.
Do you produce your own items?
Yes! We have a wood factory and a plastic factory. Where we can't make the item ourselves, we also partner with trusted suppliers with whom we have vetted and have had a long-term relationship.
What certification do you have or what audits have you passed?
Forest Stewardship Council's (FSC) Environmentally Responsible Certificate. The FSC has certified that Chai Tai's production of wood goods supports environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world's forests.
Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). BSCI is a leading business-driven initiative supporting retailers, importers and brands to improve working conditions in supplying factories and farms worldwide.
International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI). In the past, we have been certified by the ICTI program, which promotes ethical manufacturing, in the form of fair labor treatment, as well as employee health and safety, in the toy industry supply chain worldwide.
Additionally, over the years, we have passed a number of audits from large chain stores. Most recently, we have been certified by Toys R Us and L.L. Bean.
